Credit Card Number
These are the numbers present on a credit card with a specific internal structure. In any credit card the first six digits are termed as BIN (Bank Identifier Number) and rest of the digits are issued by the company who issued that credit card. The last three digits on the signature strip of the card are called Card Security Code.
The credit card numbers are issued and can be verified with the help of a mathematical formula on which they are generated to make sure that they are valid. Credit card companies do not issue credit card numbers randomly as in that case there are chances of their misuse or hacking. Every credit card issuing company has their own mathematical formula to make sure their credit card numbers more valid. A credit card machine checks all these features to make it sure that the numbers on the card are valid.
Most of the stolen credit card numbers are used at internet for purchasing. If one’s credit card number is stolen and the stealer breaks out its pin code then there is no problem for him to use the card they way he/she want. This is the reason that credit card issuing companies always advice their customers not to share their credit card number with anyone.
